Our Approach

You are welcome here.

At The Altered Table, we know that your desire is to be healed, restored, and to live fully alive.

But shame and contempt have left you feeling silenced, disconnected, and hopeless.

We believe you can move from cursing to blessing, and from shame to honor.

Your story deserves to be witnessed with kindness, curiosity, and care.

We’re here to help you make sense of your past so you can move forward with clarity, courage, and connection into the fullness of what you were created for.

"This is a sacred invitation to remember, re-embody, reclaim,
and reimagine."

What is Story Work?

Story work is the process of writing and verbally engaging the narratives that have shaped who you are. The Altered Table is a safe space to share your story and have it carefully guided and engaged by a trained facilitator. Together we will look at the impact your past has had on your present—relationships, faith, body, mind, voice— and begin to carve a new path forward.

The Altered Table Journey:

Remember

Telling our stories with greater truth and honor allows us to grieve the harm we once silenced, especially for the younger parts of ourselves who were left to make meaning on their own.

Re-Embodiment

Through somatic awareness, we will gently notice how our good bodies have held our stories-creating a space to return home and be with ourselves while cultivating a deeper sense of self-care.

Reclaim

By making meaning of our past and gaining understanding of our style of relating, we choose what to carry forward and what to release. Together we can restore loss of voice, autonomy, and agency.

Re-Imagine

Liberated from shame and contempt, we now can ask ourselves: Who are we? Together, we will dream and discover the life you were made for.

"Where have you come from, and where are you going?"
